Welcome to Sydney North Shore Nannies! Trish, a local North Shore mum started Sydney North Shore Nannies in 2016 because she saw up front the challenges of finding a professional nanny she can trust. Alexandra took over management of the business in 2022 after working with Trish for 6 years as both her nanny and second in charge.
Whether you are wanting to return to work, have some time for yourself, or just need an extra pair of hands around the house, Sydney North Shore Nannies can find the right nanny to help you and your family. We know that finding a reliable babysitter can be time-consuming, and many parents have given up on ‘date-night’.

Our nannies step-in where you leave-off, providing love, care, nurturing, support and kindness. They take care of all child-related duties. They are responsible for child development, educational play, providing age-appropriate activities, entertainment and general health and well-being. They will write in a communication journal, noting daily activities, feeding habits, toileting patterns, developmental milestones, naughty or nice behaviors, any concerns they have, or changes they notice.
Parents can enjoy a luxurious night out for a corporate function, a wedding or any other special occasion and even enjoy a sleep in! Then you can come home in the morning, knowing that your child is being cared for by one of our professional nannies.
Our nannies can help with homework, readers, can drive the children to and from school, kinder, activities and other appointments. Nannies can prepare and serve meals, and tidy the kitchen, including dishes. They can help around the house with washing, light cleaning, running errands and shopping. They can bath the children, get them ready for bed and put them to bed if required.
Two families can engage the services of one of our nannies to care for their children at either one of their homes and split the cost. This is a great option for friends/family/neighbours who live close and have compatible work hours, as well as similar parenting philosophies.

New, sleep deprived parents can enjoy a full night of sleep without interruptions while our night nannies bottle feed, change nappies, soothe and tend to your baby’s every need. They can also help prepare and sterilise bottles, dress and prepare baby in the morning.
Overseas or interstate families travelling to Sydney can too experience the comfort of our experienced, skilled and fully screened nannies to meet their particular Childcare needs. No registration fee is required of hotel guests utilising our service. In addition to the hourly rate paid directly to the nanny, Sydney north shore nannies charges a one off booking fee of $60 per booking per day. Nannies referred to hotel clients are the same nannies regularly assigned to our regular clients.

In the arrangement where you engage a nanny, whom you pay directly, you are deemed the employer. The following then applies to you.

By registering with Sydney North Shore Nannies you have access to meeting as many nannies as you need to, to find the one that’s right for you. In most cases, we will select 2-3 candidates, and email you their details. If you like their profile, we will ask them to call you to arrange an interview with you – usually in your home, so they can meet the children. This meeting is an opportunity to get to know the nanny and see how they interact with your children. Take note of how comfortable you feel, go through your children’s routine, and show them round, allowing them to ask questions. When you meet your perfect nanny you’ll just know!
For casual positions, or short-notice bookings, this process may not always be possible, so in some situations we will select the best candidate for you, and they will call you prior to arriving at your house to confirm all the details. Rest assured, the nanny that arrives will be suitably experienced to care for your children while you enjoy a night off!
In the unlikely event that we cannot find the right nanny for you, we will refund your registration fee 100% – that’s how much we believe in ourselves!
Currently, we cannot provide the CCB or CCR for fees to pay your nanny.
All of our Nannies and Babysitters have full public liability insurance, so any accidental property or vehicle damage, or medical expenses related to an unforeseen injury are fully covered. More information about insurance is included in your introduction pack. Sydney North Shore Nannies is always there for you; if you are having an issue with your nanny and feel awkward or uncomfortable bringing it up with them, we can act as a mediator. If the situation cannot be resolved, we will find you a new nanny without hesitation, if that’s the decision you make.
One of the many benefits of being a Sydney North Shore Nannies family is that we can usually find you a replacement nanny, if your regular nanny is sick or needs a day off for personal reasons. In most cases, we will try to have a ‘back-up’ nanny for you, who you may already have met during the interview process. Even with short notice*, we can usually find a suitable replacement, so you don’t have to take a day off work, or rush the children over to Grandma’s house!
*Sydney North Shore Nannies will exhaust all avenues to find a replacement nanny with short notice, but unfortunately, we are not miracle-workers, and sometimes a replacement cannot be found. Luckily, these moments are few and far-between!
If cancellation of a nanny is made with less than 12 hours notice, a cancellation fee of $33 will be charged to the client and of which $20 will be forwarded onto the nanny.
In the unfortunate circumstance where a nanny cannot be found on the requested date/s, a full refund of the booking fee will be given.
This full refund of the booking fee also applies if the booked nanny cancels or no-shows to the booking and a replacement nanny cannot be found.
No refunds will be provided for cancellations by clients due to change of mind or circumstances.
If you require your nanny to use his/her own car to transport the children, then a fuel allowance of $0.80 per km is payable on top of the nanny’s hourly wages. This amount is updated regularly by the ATO.
If a car is provided for the use of the nanny, it is the client’s responsibility to provide full insurance coverage.
In NSW, where your employee earns more than $7500 per annum you may be required to take out work cover. Please refer to the links below:

Do you provide payroll service?
No, however our clients can engage the services of our partner payroll agency www.domesticpayroll.com.au who can undertake all PAYG obligations on their behalf.
Yes, our nannies are covered by Public Liability Insurance for up to $10,000,000 worth of damages (insurance brochure included in Introductory Pack and can be provided on request). If a client chooses to make a claim, they shall be responsible for payment of the $250 excess.
If the damage is less than $250, the agency cannot assist with the claim and suggests that the Client pursue the claim through their own home insurance policy which may have a lower excess.
